The Nun 2 post-credits scene explained
Warner Bros. The Nun 2 has just landed in cinemas, but is there a just as scary post-credits scene to follow the movie, and what happens?
Grab your holy water and your cross necklaces, as the demonic Nun is back in cinemas, and back to wreak havoc.
The Nun 2‘s synopsis reads: “In 1956 France, a priest is violently murdered, and Sister Irene begins to investigate. She once again comes face-to-face with a powerful evil.”
Now, you may be too rattled after this horror movie to stick around for the credits, but you may also be curious about what goes on in said credits, including what happens during the credits. So read on, and we’ll explain all. But first, SPOILER WARNING!
Is there a post-credits scene in The Nun 2?
Yes, there is one post-credits scene in The Nun 2, and it involves some familiar faces.
The scene takes place in the middle of the credits, and features cameos from Ed and Lorraine Warren. We see Father Gordon calling out for “Mr Warren” after the phone rings, and the duo comes into the kitchen to pick up the call, before getting ready for classic Conjuring action.
Considering the Nun is part of the Conjuring franchise, and since we saw the pair make a cameo in the first movie, this scene felt inevitable. As we watch them perform an exorcism in the first Nun movie, we can imagine that this is the phone call they receive telling them of Maurice’s possession.
Now, this throws the plot of this movie into disarray a little, as we are led to believe that Maurice is free of possession by the end of the sequel, but perhaps all is not as it seems. Inevitably, this makes the Warren cameo feel like more of a prequel, as it proceeds the cameo they make in the first Nun movie. Which makes sense, as The Nun films themselves are Conjuring prequels.
What happens in The Nun 2 credits?
The rest of The Nun 2 credits are rather unsettling, shakily featuring black and white photos from the film, along with some horrifying demonic and religious imagery.
The music covering the credits is also as horrifying, leaning more into a ghostly sounding instrumental rather than an actual song.
