The Walking Dead: Dead City has been confirmed to return for season 2, and some familiar faces will once again appear in the hit zombie series.
After the flagship The Walking Dead series ended in 2022, the franchise has chosen to move forward via spin-offs. While Daryl and Carol are off doing their thing and Michonne and Rick finally reunite in The Ones Who Live, Dead City pits Maggie and Negan together.
The first outing of Dead City was a season of evolution, as the two former enemies, Maggie and Negan, embark on a journey to find Maggie’s son, Herschel Jr., evolving both individually and in their relationship.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 release window
AMCAt Comic-Con 2024, it was officially announced that Dead City season 2 will be released in 2025.
However, it has yet to be revealed whether the show will begin airing toward the beginning or end of the year.

The first outing of Dead City was a season of evolution, as the two former enemies, Maggie and Negan, embark on a journey to find Maggie’s son, Herschel Jr., evolving both individually and in their relationship.
Despite rising tensions in Manhattan, and the two find themselves on opposing sides in the growing battle for control in the city, they are again forced together.
During their panel at Comic-Con this year, Cohen described Maggie and Negan’s relationship as “the most upside-down marriage,” adding that the two characters are “on opposite sides of the coin, but still on the coin.”
