Season 1 of True Detective is nothing short of a masterpiece, with its intricate storytelling, atmospheric cinematography and soundtrack, and the undeniable brilliance of leads Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
Although Season 2 was rushed, the third chapter restored faith in the crime anthology series – and this trend continues with the fourth, Night Country. As we said in our five-star review, it’s “the best True Detective since Season 1.”

How many episodes of True Detective Season 4 are there?
True Detective: Night Country has six episodes in total.
This is a little shorter than its predecessors, with Seasons 1-3 all consisting of eight episodes.

As per the official synopsis for True Detective Season 4: “When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace.
“To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”
