As Season 6 begins filming, some Virgin River fans are concerned by one of the star’s alarming-looking injuries.

The drama doesn’t stop during a typical day in Virgin River, from Mel and Jack’s parenting journey and the sudden arrival of Everett to Preacher’s future and Brady and Lark’s fraught relationship.

Season 6 is set to be more of the same, though fans of the Netflix series might be disappointed to learn that new episodes aren’t likely to materialize until some point in 2025.

In the meantime, viewers can enjoy behind-the-scenes updates from its cast – though one star’s mysterious injury is proving to be a cause for concern.

Martin Henderson – who plays Jack in Virgin River – has caused concern over new social media posts showing an alarming bump on his forehead.

With filming for Season 6 officially beginning on February 22, fans have already been treated to an exclusive photo of Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack on set, with things seeming to take a dramatic turn for the worse already.

Posting a screenshot on Reddit directly from Henderson’s Instagram stories, stating: “I just had a sebaceous cyst removed from my forehead that looked just like that.” Another replied: “I noticed it on him several weeks ago. You could be on to something.”

A third fan worried: “Maybe a cyst, a lump of some kind that only a doctor could test. Right?”

This comes after Martin Henderson reportedly missed out on attending a recent Vancouver-based fan expo, with only Alexandra Breckenridge in attendance.

Virgin River fans cited Henderson’s recent health issues as a reason why he might have pulled out, explaining, “I think Martin just doesn’t want to be around a lot of people right now considering he had health issues recently. Perhaps he is still immunocompromised, or maybe just being a little cautious since filming is about to begin, and it is still flu season/covid. I wouldn’t read too much into it to be honest.”

Martin Henderson mentioned his “serious” health issues during an Instagram Q&A [via Digital Spy] back in December, stating “Me too! Oh man, what a couple of months. Yeah, scary and I’m just so relieved that I have really, really good doctors and surgeons and everything went well for now. It’s good to still be here.”

His character Jack is expected to have a major storyline in the upcoming Season 6, with showrunner Patrick Sean Smith revealing that episodes will focus on Mel and Jack’s journey to becoming parents.
