Divisive Virgin River couple gets official ‘ship’ name
NetflixOne of the most divisive couples in Virgin River history now has an official ‘ship’ name thanks to enthusiastic fans on Reddit.
Everywhere you look in Virgin River, there’s romance blooming in the places you’d least expect to find it. Mel and Jack continue to be our leading Romeo and Juliet, while Brady struggles in his establishing love triangle with Brie and Lark.
Preacher and Paige have also had their fair share of romantic hardship, resulting in Paige fleeing the town before a proper relationship can unfold between the two.
However, one other couple has divided Virgin River fans since they first got together, though they have now officially been given their very first ‘ship’ name.

Listen up, Virgin River fans – Cameron and Muriel, the town’s most unlikely couple, have now been christened with an official ‘ship’ name: #Camuriel.
Cameron, the local doctor, and Muriel, the surgery’s secretary, first hit it off in Season 5, with the pair spending increasing amounts of time together at work. Soon enough, they take their chemistry outside of their professional lives, starting to flirt and date before officially getting together at the end of the season.
Their relationship is something that has routinely divided Virgin River fans, with some loving the romance and others thinking that their age gap is a step too far.
Now called “#Camuriel,” one fan took to Reddit explaining, “I know, they’re a love or hate ship. This post is for those that love the couple. I took a few days off and rewatched Seasons 4 and 5 and watched a fan video on YouTube and thought: ‘thanks creative mind that put those to together’. To me, it makes sense and I saw great chemistry between them (and BTS they had fun filming the last season). Muriel is a lovely character and Cameron grew up when started his relationship with her IMO.”
“[In Season 6] I would give them more screen time (no doubts) and funny/lovely scenes LOL (As a fan I can dream). I would like to see them interacting more with the other characters in the city, for example Hope advising Muriel.”
However, plenty of fans have issues with how long the couple are going to last, citing their life differences as the main reason that they’re likely to break up in Season 6.
“I love Muriel but I’m not sure I like Cameron. I hope he doesn’t break her heart because she is one of my most favorite characters on the show,” a second fan weighed in, with a third agreeing, “I’m not buying that Cameron went from wanting a wife and kids to being fine with not having kids in a very short amount of time. I think he genuinely cares for Muriel but is deceiving himself about this issue. I think he will wake up one day and realize he really does want kids.”
According to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, Virgin River Season 6 is definitely set to address their future as a couple – but whether that future will be a happy one currently remains unknown.
