Virgin River Season 6 almost didn’t finish filming for one wild reason
NetflixDon’t panic, Virgin River Season 6 has finished filming – but there was nearly a production delay due to an unexpected reason.
Filming for Virgin River Season 6 began back in February before wrapping at some point in June… so if you’ve read that headline and panicked, the new TV show is already a done deal.
In even better news, we’ll also be seeing these episodes sooner than first thought, after both Netflix CEO Ted Sarrandos and star Alexandra Breckenridge confirmed Season 6 is coming in late 2024.
However, Breckenridge also revealed she was nearly responsible for holding up production – all because she managed to lock herself inside a chicken coop.
In an Instagram reel, the star explained, “I got locked in the coop today. I yelled and yelled for help. Now we know I can’t be heard from in our house.
“I was even late for my very last session of ADR for Virgin River Season 6 due to the debacle.”
In the video, Breckenridge re-enacted her surprise shut-in, adding, “I went to clear the water out because the chickens make the water dirty. Then the gate closed behind me.
“I was yelling for you [Casey, her husband] – and you know what, I even yelled at a man who was going by on his golf cart, and he didn’t stop!
“He didn’t even look at me and I was yelling at him. What is wrong with people? Who is that person? What a jerk.”
Unsurprisingly, Virgin River fans have found the whole ordeal hilarious. One responded, “This is too funny. Who was that man?” with a second weighing in, “Been there, done that! It’s actually terrifying.”
The good news is that Breckenridge’s omission of a “very last” session means that Season 6 is basically done and ready to watch.
Annoyingly, we still don’t have a confirmed release date, but previous release schedules point to either late November or early December as a confident guess.
Breckenridge teased fans with the news in early August, stating, “I totally know what date it is. I can’t tell you though. It’s going to be a great season. I think you’re all going to enjoy it a lot. I hope you enjoy it.”
In the meantime, you can catch up with the Season 5 Part 2 ending, potential Season 6 storylines, and why there is likely to be a time jump. You can also check out new TV shows streaming this month.
