Fans “heartbroken” by Where is Wendy Williams? documentary trailer
LifetimeA trailer for the upcoming Lifetime documentary Where is Wendy Williams? has arrived, and it’s left fans feeling “heartbroken.”
Wendy Williams is no stranger to controversy, a reputation she has proudly owned throughout her career, from her years as the “shock jockette” radio DJ to her time hosting The Wendy Williams Show. The chat show officially ended in June 2022 following Williams’ various health struggles with Graves’ disease and lymphedema, as well as addiction.
But Williams also made the headlines in 2022 for financial reasons, after Wells Fargo froze her bank accounts, claiming she was an “incapacitated person.” A New York judge later appointed an unnamed guardian to gain control of her multi-million-dollar fortune, sparking concerns she was being taken advantage of.
All of this has left fans wondering about Williams’ wellbeing, which looks set to be explored in an upcoming documentary titled Where is Wendy Williams?

A trailer for the two-part Lifetime documentary arrived last night (February 1), giving a deeper insight into Williams’ recent financial and addiction battles. According to the clip, Where is Wendy Williams? is set to air on February 24 and 25.
The clip was later mysteriously deleted, but social media users managed to preserve the trailer and share it, leading to widespread concern over Williams’ wellbeing. Taking to the comments section, one X user wrote, “Oh this made me cry.”
“This is heartbreaking. I love her so much! I miss her everyday,” said another, while a third added, “Breaks my heart to see the queen of Radio and TV this way. Love you Wendy. Praying for you.”
Others have speculated about the timeline of events, as Williams’ son Kevin Hunter Jr appears in the documentary to speak about his mom. “She always talks about how she wants to work but I feel as if she’s worked enough,” he says.
The following clips allude to her issues with alcohol abuse, with claims that she’s surrounded by “yes people” who are “allowing this to continue.” However, a woman later says, “Anybody could look at her and tell this is not just alcohol,” referring to Williams’ health and financial situation.
“This is so confusing… how are the cameras able to film this and her family can’t see her? Looked like her son was right there with her.. I’m so lost,” said one commenter. Another claimed, “This doc footage was filmed two years ago and since then ‘she’ fired her entire team and now her family is saying that they also have not been able to contact her… AKA some random CONservator has taken over her life.”
However, a third suggested that Williams’ “family weren’t able to see her at the height of the issues this time last year,” and that the documentary was filmed “when she was around NY looking unwell.” They added: “She has not been seen for a year, she has been in treatment and with family.”
Hopefully more will be revealed if and when the documentary drops on its proposed dates – we’ll be sure to keep you posted if this changes.
