Yellowstone fans say these characters “deserved” their fate
ParamountThere are some characters on Yellowstone who meet particularly grizzly endings, but fans of the Taylor Sheridan series think these guys deserved it.
If you live in the Yellowstone universe, you’re bound to get into trouble once in a while. Anyone who’s ever crossed the Duttons knows that there are consequences, and that goes for their friends, too. Essentially, no Yellowstone character is safe at any given moment.
While Yellowstone fans are waiting for Season 5 Part 2 to finally arrive, they’ve been reflecting on some of the worst fates met in the show. John Dutton and his crew aren’t afraid to show the rest of Montana who’s boss, and that sometimes means running illegal moves. Namely…well, murder.
There are two characters in particular who get the full wrath of John and his ranch hands during the show, and fans have stopped to question whether they actually deserved what they got. The answer? 100%.
Yellowstone characters “deserved” their fate, say fans
On the Yellowstone subreddit, fans of the show agreed that Wade Morrow and his son, Clint, deserved their brutal fate after attacking Colby and Teeter.
The original post asked: “What are your thoughts on how Rip and the Bunkhouse Cowboys handled Wade Morrow and his son Clint in Season 3? Do you think it was too much? Would you have done the same thing after what Wade & Clint did?”
This all takes place in Season 3 Episode 9: ‘Meaner than Evil’. After Wade and his son Clint brutally trample Colby and Teeter with their horses on the Dutton’s side of the property, the ranch hands are left feeling bloodthirsty.
With John’s blessing, they set up a trap and hunt the men down. After Clint dies during the chase after falling from his horse and hitting his head, the crew lynch Wade on a nearby tree.
It’s pretty grim — so bad, that it even earned a spot on our list of the most shocking Yellowstone deaths. But in the minds of fans, this act of revenge was totally justified.
“Plenty of instances in this show of John ordering or allowing the murder of people who didn’t deserve it, this isn’t one of those cases IMO,” one comment said. “Whatever went down with them in the past aside they tried to murder Colby and Teeter.”
“I think it’s particularly tough because it feels racially motivated for them to target Colby, and also Teeter as a woman. In the context of the show, Morrow and Clint deserved what they got,” added another.
Another wrote: “Wade and Clint didn’t get any sympathy from me. The Duttons do some bad stuff but these two are towards the bottom of the list.”
“Not only did he try to kill Colby and Teeter, but his hands surely aren’t clean from his time working the ranch, so he should have expected deadly consequences,” argued one comment.
A harsh punishment for sure, but one thing’s for certain in the minds of Yellowstone devotees: if you mess with Duttons, you’ll get what’s coming to you.
