You: Do Love and Beck return for Season 4?
NetflixGuinevere Beck and Love Quinn were major players in You’s earlier seasons but are they back for Season 4?
Hello, You. After taking the world by storm since its 2018 release, You, the Netflix show that is based on the book series by Caroline Kepnes, has been getting bigger and bigger with every season. This season saw Joe take on the ‘Eat the Rich’ killer, along with a new lover and a stalker of his own.
This is a big change up from last season, which had him living in the suburbs with his equally murderous wife Love Quinn, who apparently died at the end of said season. And before that there was Guinevere Beck, who Joe murdered at the end of Season1.
However, it seems like both of Joe’s lost loves may be returning for Season 4, but are they really here and alive? We’ll explain all, so keep reading…
Do Love and Beck return for You Season 4?
Yes, but don’t get too excited. Love and Beck are hallucinations by Joe, and by all accounts remain very much dead.
By Season 4 Part 2, Joe has very much lost it, which can be seen in the way he treats Marienne, another old girlfriend. This causes him to have intense hallucinations inside his glass cage, which is where he sees old versions of his old loves.
Watch Joe meet Beck and Love in the clip below:
In the clip, Joe is haunted by whispering voices about how “He killed her, he strangled her,” which seems to be the fate Beck had befallen in Season 1. And sure enough, Beck appears, at a reading of the classic book “Bluebeard’s Castle.” She then introduces him to the group and explains that she died in his arms, before saying defensively, “Don’t look at me, it’s your dream.”
We later see Love sitting in a chair in the glass cage ominously, before closing a book and saying, “Hi, Joe.” She, like Beck, then berates him for the damage he’s done in the name of “Love,” and the harmful patterns he’s created.
Throughout the whole scene, Joe is attempting to find a key to the glass cage. Why, you ask? Well, naturally this is only the beginning of the tangled web that is You Season 4 Part 2, so make sure you’re all caught up and ready with whatever Joe does and imagines next.
