Kai Cenat under fire for “tormenting” live animals for Twitch content

Twitch star Kai Cenat is facing accusations of “tormenting” live animals for his broadcasts after a recent stream sparked backlash among viewers.

Kai Cenat is one of the most famous streamers on the net, breaking multiple records on Twitch and taking home Streamer of the Year two times in a row at the Streamer Awards.

Kai is known for his over-the-top content and bombastic personality… but viewers are taking issue with one of his recent streams that involved live animals.

Cenat has featured animals on his streams before. For example, he broadcasted a ‘blindfold’ challenge with rapper Offset, who had to touch a variety of objects while wearing a blindfold and guess what they were — objects that included rodents and bugs.

However, his latest animal-related broadcast has sparked outrage, with viewers claiming he “tormented” the critters for content.

On March 6, 2024, Kai and a large group of friends got together for yet another ‘blindfold’ challenge that involved a frog — but after internet-famous comedian ‘Druski’ put his hand inside the box that contained the critter, he immediately jerked his hand out, upsetting the box and sending the frog flying.

Druski then upset a couple of arcade cabinets that were against the wall, pushing them over and nearly crushing the frog, which had hopped its way near them after falling out of the box.

That’s not all; the group also got their hands on a Macaw, which appeared to freak out several in the party, who screamed and tried to get away from the parrot by jumping onto furniture.

It’s worth noting that Macaws are extremely sensitive birds who are known to form strong attachments with their owners… something commenters picked up on, who accused the streamer of “tormenting” the animals in his stream.

“Certain people shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near animals,” one viewer wrote on Reddit.

“Maybe don’t smash a heavy chair when a very delicate animal sits on it?” Another said. “If it rolled in the other direction, the bird could be injured or killed. Not even gonna mention the frog that could be crushed.”

“They very clearly basically threw the frog off the table and almost crushed it,” another pointed out. “Birds as animals are also super prone to stress and can actually die from it quite easily, and people knocking things over and screaming is definitely going to stress them out.

“Using animals for ‘entertainment’ like this is honestly disgusting, though I don’t expect he will receive a punishment for it.”

Thus far, Kai hasn’t responded to the criticism against him, but it’s clear that viewers are unhappy with his use of animals in his latest stream.
