xQc files Emergency Motion to freeze assets after alleging Adept sold his McLaren
xQc / AdeptxQc’s lawyers, according to court documents, have filed an Emergency Motion to freeze assets involved in his divorce court case with ex-wife Adept, hinting that she sold his McLaren luxury car.
xQc’s legal battle surrounding his divorce with ex-partner and fellow streamer Adept has continued to be a public affair since its first details were revealed.
They both filed for divorce back in November 2022, after they had been in a ‘common law marriage’ since 2020. Ever since, nonstop drama has followed, which has often dominated socials.
Disputes started over the ownership of xQc’s McLaren supercar and other personal belongings. Adept then filed a Protective Order against him, which accused the streamer of committing sexual assault.
The Protective Order reportedly closed without any convictions in August 2023, and he revealed that the divorce case had ended in December, stating: “That’s the end of that. That’s it.”
However, xQc has since revealed he intends to counter-sue Adept over the legal fees incurred and his lawyers have now filed an Emergency Motion to freeze his assets, according to court documents.
xQc reportedbly motions to freeze assets amid Adept court case
The motion states: “Respondent’s Emergency Motion for Accounting and to Sequester Funds,” and that it was filed by xQc’s lawyers on February 20, 2024.
This kind of motion is submitted to request to the court for a person to be prevented from using assets that are lawfully registered as being involved with a particular lawsuit.
Fans originally began speculating that something was up after he cryptically ended his February 20 Twitch stream. “My bad I had to do like a boring stream today, I just kind of had to, I just wanted to stay alive you know.
“It is what it is. I will tell you guys what it is all about in some sh*t, in something later,” xQc said to his viewers and then left a large pause.
The streamer then ended his Twitch stream: “Later. F*cking annoyed, oh man oh man oh man. Holy sh*t, alright I will see you guys later, bye.”
xQc hints that Adept tried to sell his McLaren despite court order
xQc later revealed that someone allegedly sold the McLaren, hinting that it was likely Adept.
“Let’s just say the ‘other one’ has a complete disregard for the law,” he said during a February 21 live stream. “After the whole court stuff, my assets are protected by a court order and whatnot. Like, my cars or whatever.
“Somebody decided to not only use, but also sell the car against the court order. Guess somebody does not care about the law. It is what it is.”
The streamer then showed a photo of a vehicle that looks “quite similar” to his own McLaren in a parking lot.
This is just the latest development in the ex-couple’s ongoing legal feud, and it’s unclear what repercussions Adept may face for supposedly acting outside the court order.
