The loudest regional rivalry in Valorant promised to get off to a great start for No.1 EU seed Team Liquid at Masters 2 going up against unlikely No.2 NA seed Version1, but it didn’t go as expected.

TL’s stars were online, connecting multikills and explosive entries, but even at their best, they looked disjointed as rounds came down to the wire.

Eventually V1 capitalized on Liquid’s shortcomings with effective post-plant tactics that negated the EU champ’s impressive (and largely successful) site retakes.

Liquid managed to strike first blood in the series, but V1 came back to thwart one of EU’s finest.
