New Valorant Agent Iso’s 1v1 ultimate can kill both players

Valorant’s newest agent Iso has an ultimate that pulls enemies into a one versus one but can also kill him if the user isn’t careful.

Iso is the latest duelist to be added to Valorant behind Neon who was released over a year ago. He is also the second Chinese agent to be added since Sage who was released as one of the base agents.

Unlike the other duelists whose primary objective is to deal as much damage as possible, Iso takes on a slightly different approach. His wall and shielding abilities help his teammates but then hurt them. Something that can’t be said for agents like Phoenix and Raze who can deal damage to their allies.

Iso’s unique abilities have been called into question by professionals within the Valorant scene. Game Changers star meL was one of his harshest critics, claiming that there were much better agents in the current rotation. However, it is Iso’s ultimate ability that has gotten the community talking.

Iso’s ult gives players one chance to survive – literally

The ultimate allows Iso to drag an enemy into a bubble just between the two of them. There is one shield on the opponent’s side while Iso gets two shields, giving him the advantage. If Iso kills his opponent, the ultimate is lowered and he is returned to the game and vice versa for the opponent.

However, if both players are unable to kill each other within the 15-second time allotted, both will be eliminated instantly. Valorleaks on Twitter broke down how Iso’s ult can also be deadly for him.

“Iso’s Ultimate lasts up to 15 seconds, if no player has won, then both players will lose & die,” said Valorleaks. “While in the ultimate you are suppressed, so no abilities can be used. Ultimate costs 7 points.”

Most of the comments echoed the sentiment that Iso would not be as good as other agents, while some players made jokes pointing at lower-ranked players being unable to hit their shots and inevitably run out of time.

There is still that is not known about Iso when it comes to how he will interact with other agents’ abilities. Iso released alongside Episode 7 Act 3 on October 31.
