WoW leveling buff goes live early in Season of Discovery
Blizzard EntertainmentIn a move that will come as a delight to many, the leveling buff in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery has gone live early, before the launch of the game’s second phase.
Blizzard’s latest seasonal Classic offering changed much about the original version of the game. Players have access to new powers and abilities, while fresh PvE and PvP experiences have brought a significant challenge for the community to get involved in.
As part of that, the game features a staggered leveling system. In the first instance, players have been able to reach Level 25. The launch of the next phase will increase that to 40, before subsequent phases go to 50 and 60.
Now, a promised increase in experience gains has arrived earlier than expected.
50% experience boost is now live in Season of Discovery
Players logging into Season of Discovery will notice that they have a new buff. Known as the Discoverer’s Delight, it provides a 50% boost to all experience gains for players between Levels 1-24. Players above that threshold will not be able to benefit at all, even after Phase Two launches.
The slower rate of leveling and restricted access to quests (when compared with retail WoW) should mean that the experience boost will come as a relief to many. Though many mains are already at 25, leveling alts is always a nice option to have.
This is particularly true in Season of Discovery, where classes change so much between phases. Alts offer a nice option for those who find they don’t enjoy a class in Phase Two, despite maining it in the first phase.
Phase Two is launching on February 8, so it won’t be long before players progress to the new level cap. With activities like the Gnomeregan raid and Stranglethorn Vale PvP event, they will need to be prepared when they get there.
