WoW player starts Classic Hardcore run with unique controller
Blizzard EntertainmentWorld of Warcraft players have always looked for ways to make the game more challenging. One player who previously achieved notoriety for leveling through the game using only dance mats as controllers is about to do it all over again, only this time, it’s a Hardcore run.
Leveling from 1-60 in Classic World of Warcraft is a difficult proposition in its own right. The introduction of Hardcore servers made this infinitely more challenging, with players unable to die at any point during their journey.
That said, many have been able to do it, and the community has begun to look for further ways to increase the threat the game offers. One of those intrepid players is Rudeism, who rose to prominence after leveling to 100 during Warlords of Draenor, using only a dance mat to control their character.
Now, he’s going to do it all over again on Hardcore servers, in the hope of dancing his way to the level cap.
Rudeism is using DDR mats to conquer Hardcore Self-Found WoW
In a post on Twitter/X, the popular Twitch streamer confirmed his new challenge would be starting today. Not only is it happening in the Hardcore, permadeath version of the game, it is also Self-Found. This means the game is entirely solo, with no groups or trading items with others.
Without watching the stream, it’s difficult to understand how painstaking this is. Each time he uses the mouse, he has to move it in a specific axis’ using the dance mat arrow keys. This makes any form of clicking a time-consuming nightmare.
Though this doesn’t affect ability usage, it makes every interaction painfully slow. After completing his first stream, Rudeism remains alive and has hit the heady heights of Level 6. Whether he will make it all the way to 60 is another question entirely.
